Richard John Morin's Obituary
With deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Richard John (Rick) Morin, 68, of Tampa, Florida.
Rick entered eternal rest at home, unexpectedly, on July 17, 2023. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and loyal friend.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Nona; two daughters: Rebecca Ebel (Ben ) and Rachel Morin; four grandchildren: Charlotte, Emma, Brayden, and Parker Ebel; mother Charlotte Carlson Morin Stetson of Connecticut; sister Sue Gascoyne (Danny) of Connecticut; brothers Bob (Leah) of Arizona, and Chris (Ryoko) of Washington DC; and many nieces and nephews.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Robert Richard Morin, and his stepfather, William Irving (Pop) Stetson.
Born in Middletown, Connecticut on April 25, 1955, Rick was raised in Higganum, Connecticut, where he was known as an exceptional athlete and standout catcher in baseball. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1977 from Southern Connecticut State College.
Always the entrepreneur, Rick started his first business at a very early age. His current company, Pro Rep Solutions, was formed on December 1, 2008. As the Owner, President, and CEO, his daily contributions made the company highly successful.
Rick was a longtime member and avid golfer at Cheval Country Club. One of his favorite past times was trout fishing in Connecticut and, on occasion, salmon fishing in Alaska. In his later years, he enjoyed boating and fishing with the family, especially the grandkids. As a huge sports fan, Rick was often caught watching games at home, especially the Tampa Bay Rays.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Trinity Chapel on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Visitation will take place from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m., Memorial Service from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. and Internment from 2 p.m. – 2:30 followed by time of fellowship and refreshments in Magnolia Hall on site.
