Richard Allen Harrison passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at the age of 87. He was born on August 11, 1938, in San Luis Obispo, CA.
Richard proudly served in the United States Air Force for 26 years, concluding his career as maintenance superintendent. His career took him around the world with assignments in Newfoundland, Florida, Texas, Thailand, Germany, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, the Philippines, Georgia and New Mexico.
While stationed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Richard met the love of his life, Carol, and they married in 1961 at the Christ the King Catholic Church. The couple recently celebrated their 65™ wedding anniversary, a testament to their lifelong devotion and partnership. After retirement from the military in 1983, Richard and Carol returned to Tampa where he pursued his 2" career. He earned an Associate Degree in Computer Science and went to work for Concord Management and later Time Warner.
Richard was preceded in death by his Father, Lee Harper Harrison, his mother, Goldie Marie Weagley, his brother Lee Eugene Harrison, and his infant sister Helen Marie Harrison.
He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Agnes Carolyn “Carol” Harrison, his sister Shirley Joanne Giannini, his daughter, Lynne Anne Morrissey and her husband Rick Morrissey; his son Lee Andrew Harrison and his wife, Denise Felix, their children Michelle Harrison, Jason Felix-Harrison and Alyssa Felix- Harrison; his son David Michael Harrison and his wife Tammy Harrison and their children, Emma Harrison and Katie Harrison; and his son Richard Harrison Jr. and his wife Amanda Harrison and their children Joseph Harrison and his wife Sara Harrison and Cassidy Craig and a great grandchild Jaxson Craig.
During his life, Richard found joy in the simple pleasures and meaningful connections. In his early military years, he loved bowling with his buddies; later, he cherished fishing trips with his sons watching them grow into men. In his later years, he was often seen playing video games, listening to music, and cheering on his beloved Tampa Bay Rays alongside Carol at Tropicana Field.
Richard will be remembered for his humor, quiet strength, and devotion to his family.
He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend who lived a life full of service, love. and laughter.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity , Fl. 34655 on a date and time to be determined with burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
