Richard D. "Dave" Doerr's Obituary
Richard David (Dave) Doerr of Odessa, Fl passed away September 24, 2022, at the age of 63. Dave was born to Richard David Doerr and Joyce Doerr. His family lived in Ohio before relocating to Bradenton and then Sarasota, Florida whereas a teenager he met his wife, Mitzi.
Dave had a strong work ethic and made his living as an exceptionally skilled mason and accomplished builder, mostly in the Tampa Bay area. He loved hunting in Ohio with his “Ohio Family” and friends in North Florida. Dave enjoyed fishing and playing golf with his friends, father/mother in-law, sons, and grandsons.
He had a passion for his favorite sports teams, The Ohio State Buckeyes, Tampa Bay Bucs, Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Bay Lightning, and The Tropics Baseball Club. Dave coached Little League and PAL football over the years and always took pleasure in watching his family play baseball, softball, and football. Throughout his life he also played ball and enjoyed the camaraderie of his coed and men’s softball teams.
Preceded in death by his mother Joyce Doerr, sister Lori Glover and stepmother Diana Doerr. Dave is survived by his father Richard David Doerr, sister Hope Williams (brother in-law Mike), and sister Andrea Mickley. He had many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Preceded in death by his (step father-in-law Robert Lucchetti), survived by (mother-in-law Pauline Lucchetti). Survived by (father-in-law Les Ketchum) and (step mother-in-law Donna Ketchum).
Dave was a true family man, a devoted husband, and a genuine friend. He fought courageously to the end to have more time with his loved ones. Dave was the father of three beloved sons David Doerr (daughter in-law Peggy), Mitchell Doerr (daughter in-law Taryn) and youngest son Trey Doerr. Dave (Papa) leaves six grandchildren that he held close to his heart: Kobie, Kory, Karsen, Gunnar, Clayton, and Emersyn.
Dave will always be remembered by his family and close friends and will be forever loved by his wife of 46 wonderful years, Mitzi Doerr. Dave felt blessed to have so many prayers from everyone. He was a believer and did not die alone for now he is with Jesus.
