Ramon Fransisco Perez's Obituary
Ramón Francisco Pérez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, pastor, and missionary, was called home to be with the Lord on September 6th, 2025.
He was born on November 30, 1948, in San José, Costa Rica, to Esperanza Ortega Amador. Ramón studied pharmacy at the University of Costa Rica before answering God’s call to serve in full-time ministry. He married the love of his life, Annette Meek, on August 1, 1975, and together they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage.
In 1979, Ramón and Annette returned to Costa Rica as Independent Baptist missionaries, where they dedicated the next 44 years to building God’s kingdom. Ramón served as pastor and spiritual leader, founding Iglesia Bíblica Bautista de Fray Casiano in Puntarenas and Iglesia Bíblica Bautista in Pavas, San José. His ministry left an indelible impact on countless lives, as he lived out his faith with conviction, courage, and a servant’s heart.
Beyond his ministry, Ramón lived life with joy, curiosity, and strength. A jokester at heart, he delighted in making people laugh. He was highly intelligent and multi-talented—a magician, chess player, ping pong and pool enthusiast, origami folder, and a passionate martial artist.
Above all, Ramón treasured being “Pawpaw.” He loved his grandchildren deeply and poured his heart into their lives. To them, he will always be remembered for his playful spirit, his strength, and the love he gave so freely.
Ramón is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Annette Pérez; his son Ramón Pérez and wife Cassandra; his daughter Jennifer Pérez and husband Jared Long; his grandchildren Chloe Terease Pérez, Jera Rose Long Pérez, Cadence Miree Pérez, and Jackson Albert Long Pérez; his brother Roberto Pérez and wife Patricia Garita; and his nieces Laura Pérez, Lucía Pérez, and Leslie Pérez and their families. He is also survived by countless spiritual children, friends, and church members who were blessed by his ministry and love.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens at 12609 Memorial Dr, Trinity, FL 34655.

Ramón Francisco Pérez, amado esposo, padre, abuelo, hermano, pastor y misionero, fue llamado a la presencia del Señor el 6 de septiembre de 2025.
Nació el 30 de noviembre de 1948 en San José, Costa Rica, hijo de Ramón Pérez Picado y Esperanza Ortega Amador. Ramón estudió Farmacia en la Universidad de Costa Rica antes de responder al llamado de Dios para servir en el ministerio a tiempo completo. El 1 de agosto de 1975 contrajo matrimonio con el amor de su vida, Annette Meek, con quien compartió 50 maravillosos años de unión.
En 1979, Ramón y Annette regresaron a Costa Rica como misioneros bautistas independientes, dedicando los siguientes 44 años a la obra del Señor. Ramón sirvió como pastor y líder espiritual, fundando la Iglesia Bíblica Bautista de Fray Casiano en Puntarenas y la Iglesia Bíblica Bautista en Pavas, San José. Su ministerio marcó profundamente incontables vidas, pues vivió su fe con convicción, valentía y un corazón de siervo.
Más allá de su ministerio, Ramón vivió la vida con alegría, curiosidad y fortaleza. Con un gran sentido del humor, siempre encontraba la manera de sacar sonrisas. Era un hombre inteligente y multifacético: aficionado de las artes de ilusiones, ajedrecista, jugador de ping pong y billar, amante del origami y apasionado de las artes marciales.
Sobre todo, Ramón atesoraba ser “Pawpaw”. Amaba profundamente a sus nietos y volcó su corazón en sus vidas. Para ellos siempre será recordado por su espíritu juguetón, su fortaleza y el amor que entregó generosamente.
Ramón deja en vida a su amada esposa de 50 años, Annette Pérez; su hijo Ramón Pérez y su esposa Cassandra; su hija Jennifer Pérez y su esposo Jared Long; sus nietos Chloe Terease Pérez, Jera Rose Long Pérez, Cadence Miree Pérez y Jackson Albert Long Pérez; su hermano Roberto Pérez y su esposa Patricia Garita; y sus sobrinas Laura Pérez, Lucía Pérez y Leslie Pérez junto con sus familias. También lo sobreviven incontables hijos espirituales, amigos y miembros de iglesia que fueron bendecidos por su ministerio y amor.
