Radha Majumdar's Obituary
Radha A. Majumdar died peacefully on December 30, 2016 in Tampa, Florida. She is survived by her son Sareet, daughter-in-law Rajjina and grandchildren Shaun, Jay and Rowan, along with her brother Taranath. She was born on July 27, 1927 in Udipi, India and became one of the first females from that region of India to attend and complete medical school (Nair Medical College (Bombay) 1953). She went onto practice Obstetrics/Gynecology in the United Kingdom and Psychiatry in the US. She immigrated with her husband Arun and only son Sareet to Rhode Island in July, 1964, and the family eventually moved to Tampa in 1971 with her becoming one of the first physicians of Indian origin to practice medicine in the Tampa Bay area. She was truly a pioneer and trailblazer in all she took on, and she will be dearly missed by her extended family and friends. Her cremation service and a celebration of her life will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens on Sunday January 15, 2017 at 11 a.m.
