Puneet Goyal's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing away of our beloved Puneet who was very brave till the very end in her fight with cancer. She was a loving mother and a very kind soul who cared very deeply for all her near and dear ones.
Puneet's journey started in Punjab when she was born on the day of Deepawali in 1972. She spent her childhood in Punjab growing up to be a lovely charmful girl with an infectious laughter. Her journey to the US started with her marriage in 2004 with Dharmendar. In the US, she was inspired by Shyamji Gupta & Shashi ji and started volunteering for Ekal and VHPA. She dedicated many years to volunteering and teaching children and made many friends along the way. Along with this, she was also an avid artist passionate about different art and craft forms including jewelry making and sewing.
Puneet was always welcoming and full of warmth. She had a sweet voice and sang very well. She gained strength from the Hanuman Chalisa which she sang daily till the very end.
Puneet was the bedrock of her family and gained tremendous strength from Dharma to which she was fully devoted. She always placed others happiness and needs above her own and was always ready to sacrifice.
Bhagavan Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2 Verse 20:
न जायते म्रियते वा कदाचि
नायं भूत्वा भविता वा न भूय: |
अजो नित्य: शाश्वतोऽयं पुराणो
न हन्यते हन्यमाने शरीरे || 20||
"Atma is not born, nor does it ever die; after having been it does not cease to be, unborn, eternal, changeless and ancient, it is not killed when the body is destroyed."
While we mourn Puneet's departure, lets take comfort knowing that she continues her journey to eternal union with the Divine consciousness.
She will continue to provide us with strength to carry her legacy of love, compassion and devotion.
