True to his name, our dear brother-in-law, Prabhakara Rao garu, had a brilliant mind and a radiant face. His big and bright eyes were filled with love and warmth. Wherever he was, his presence transmitted peace and tranquility. Was an unassuming and an extremely kind person with a simple lifestyle who would never compromise on his values. A rare and a blessed individual. We were lucky to have had him as our brother-in-law. Was like a brother to us and his passing left a void in our lives. Our dear SPR was a remarkable person with a spiritual mind. We’ll miss him deeply. Our sister Saila and Prabhakara Rao garu were a loving couple who stood by each other through thick and thin. We pray God to give our sister the strength to bear the loss.

We mourn the sudden, unexpected loss of our dear friend and colleague, Dr. S.P. Rao. The polymer community has lost an eminent polymer scientist. Dr. Rao was truly a faithful member of the polymer community, a pioneer in more than one way, a great friend and esteemed colleague. Dr. Rao was a dedicated and caring teacher and mentor to many of his colleagues. He will be remembered for his honesty and fairness and his passion for thoroughly educating his colleagues by challenging them while maintaining a pleasant environment for learning. His enthusiastic, insightful and creative tendencies enabled him to solve some of the most challenging problems at 3M. Dr. Rao was one of the kindest, most humble and caring individuals that one could ever hope to know. He was always the first to praise and encourage others in the team. Every project he undertook, he worked diligently. I dearly miss him!
