Phyllis Buss' Obituary
Phyllis Joan Buss, 84, died of natural causes on August 5th, 2023. She was born June 14th, 1939, in Racine, WI, the son of Harold and Nancy Ferg.
Phyllis had various jobs in her young years, but the most notable was running a diner in Racine, where she met the love of her life Kenneth J Buss in 1957. She also won the title of Kringle Queen that year making her Danish mother very happy. Ken and Phyllis married after a 4-month courtship and she was an amazing mother to three boys and two girls. Eventually, they moved to Florida, where together they started various businesses. Phyllis loved to fish. She enjoyed many trips to the Florida Keys, always bringing in the biggest catch. One of her favorite spots was the Kenai River in Alaska, where they spent their summers for ten years. She would fly fish for salmon with bears watching on the other side of the riverbank.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Kenneth J Buss II, Scott J Buss, and son-in-law Keith Stanley; her brothers Harold Ferg Jr, Gerald Ferg, and Ronald Ferg. Surviving are her son Michael Buss; daughters, Bridget Stanley, and Sarah (Matthew) Fonk; eight grandchildren, Scott W. Buss, Kenneth (Serena) Buss III, Britney (Scott) Fitzgerald, Krystal Buss, Christina Stanley, Kaitlyn Stanley, Madeline Fonk, and Baron Fonk; 5 great-grandchildren, Avery, Nora, Amelia, Isabella, Abigail; her brother Dennis (Marilyn) Ferg, Sister-in-Law Mardell Ferg; many nieces and nephews.
