Pete Milosevich's Obituary
Pete R. Milosevich of New Port Richey, FL passed away Saturday evening, July 2, 2016 at 87. He was a loving husband and father and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kathryn; a son Paul (Heidi) of Coppell, TX and 2 daughters, Jana of New Port Richey, FL, and Lori of Springfield, IL; four grandchildren - Ashley, Ted, Meg and Michael; and one great grandson, Caden. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.
Pete was born on January 17, 1929 in Ziegler, IL, the son of Rado and Katy Milosevich. He received an undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University and a master’s degree from the University of Illinois. He was a devoted educator and coach working at high schools in Louisville, Deland and Shelbyville, Illinois.
After his retirement from teaching in 1985, Pete and Kathryn moved to Florida. It had been common for him to walk to work each day. Once retired, he became an avid and dedicated walker, covering from 3 to 10 miles a day throughout the Holiday and New Port Richey area. He was a fixture along US 19 and SR 54, always in his New York Yankees ball cap and ready with a friendly exchange for anyone he encountered.
A memorial service will be held 11:00am on July 9 at Trinity Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to HPH Hospice (http://www.hph-hospice.org).
