Pete Battistoni's Obituary
Pete Roger Battistoni, 86, of Land O’Lakes, Florida, passed away in his home on Wednesday, August 25th 2021 after a sudden brain aneurysm.
Pete was born on August 6th, 1935 to Angelo and Adeline Battistoni in Mather, PA. After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1953, he went on to study Finance at Waynesburg College, and eventually received his doctorate in business.
After graduation, he worked in finance for International Business Machines for 33 years. In 1963, he met Darlene Mattish, and they wed that same year, going on to have three children, Ricky, Randy, and Roger. His career took him and his family across the globe having lived in Cleveland, OH; Grand Rapids, MI; Arlington Heights, IL; Creve Coeur, MO; Marly-Le-Roi, France; Gaithersburg, MD; Caracas, Venezuela; & Tokyo, Japan before retiring to Florida.
Pete was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was unendingly proud of his sons and Darlene and always tried his best to support them. He was also exceedingly dedicated to his broader family of eight brothers and sisters and their families cherishing them one and all.
Pete was predeceased by his siblings, Charles, Angelo, Raymond, Ida, Adolph (Rich), and Ronald. He is survived by his wife Darlene; sons: Ricky & Lynda Battistoni of Vermont and their children Jack, Emily & Lily; Randy & Anne Battistoni of Ohio and their children Alec, Olivia & Samuel; and Roger & Amanda Battistoni of Florida; and his sister Mary Rice of Pennsylvania.
There will be a funeral service at 11am on September 18, 2021, at Saint Marcellus Catholic Church (1340 Jefferson Rd, Jefferson, PA 15344). An interment service at Greene County Memorial Park (1003 Jefferson Rd Waynesburg, PA 15370) will follow, and a reception with a full lunch at the Greene County Country Club (1044 Lippencott Rd. Waynesburg, PA 15370).
