Peggy I Sharp's Obituary
Margaret “Peggy” Ingram Sharp, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and community servant, passed away on June 16, 2026, surrounded by family.
Born April 30,1938, in Memphis, Tennessee to John Ray and Berma Scott Ingram, Peggy grew up in Fairhope, Alabama. She attended local schools and then Auburn University. Peggy worked as Claims Manager with Motors Insurance Corporation in Mobile, Alabama prior to marrying her husband, Robert R. Sharp on August 14,1965 and until the birth of their first child, Robin. The family moved from Pensacola to Tampa in December 1968, following Robert’s promotion within the then AAA Peninsula Motor Club.
In addition to being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Peggy supported her husband throughout his 57-year career with the AAA organization. Peggy loved traveling the world, accompanying her husband on AAA member tours.
She enjoyed taking the children to their tennis and golf lessons and watching them compete. She was their biggest fan. Peggy was President of the Mothers Association for The Academy of the Holy Names and Berkeley Preparatory School, co-chair of the Silver Coffee at The Academy of the Holy Names, and active with fundraising at Jesuit High School. She was also an active member of the Philanthropic Women of St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Robert; their daughter, Robin Cherie Sharp, who lives in Tampa; their son, Robert and Jana Sharp, and their grandsons, Robert Fischer and Malaree Sharp and Spencer Ingram Sharp, all who reside in Statesboro, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Life Path Hospice.
