Paul A Turcotte's Obituary
Paul A Turcotte, 87, a long-time resident of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully in Sarasota, Florida on December 13, 2023.
Paul was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on June 16, 1936, to Henry and Marcelle Turcotte. One of four children, he was a member of the class of 1954 at Bishop Bradley High School and worked part-time at Associated Grocers where he met and eventually married his wife of sixty-six years, Therese (Terry) Turcotte. Paul went on to graduate from the Manchester Institute of Technology with a degree in radar technology.
Immediately following graduation in 1957, Paul and Terry moved to the Poughkeepsie, New York area where they started their family, ultimately raising five children. There Paul embarked on his decades-long career with IBM that took him from the Hudson Valley in New York to Tampa, Florida. He retired from IBM in Tampa in 1991 after thirty-four years of service
Early on Paul served in both the New Hampshire and New York Air National Guard, while later in life he volunteered with the American Red Cross and St. Timothy’s Church in Lutz, Florida.
Family was a priority for Paul and he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Paul enjoyed a full life and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Terry; brothers Norman and Roger; children Jim (Kelsey) of Vero Beach, FL, Ray (Terri) of Hopewell Junction, NY, Ron (Monica) of Londonderry, NH, Denise of Bradenton, FL, and Tom (Cyndi) of Deland, FL; as well as by eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Vivian Owen. Paul’s extended family includes Jennifer Nusekabel and her three children, Daniel, Joshua, and Emily.
A Funeral Mass will be held on January 9, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Timothy’s in Lutz, Florida.
