With Dad,
I have fond memories of our weekend visits to NOTL to see Grammy , visit Fort George and round up with Ice cream at the Stagecoach.
Dad and I did a few cultural things too. ( I was a bit of "Nerd" ) My first visit to an Art Gallery was Albright - Knox in Buffalo ( I think I was about 9). I'm pretty sure Dad was bored, but I wanted to go "through it all " so he persevered through. ( I still love art galleries and museums) He enjoyed the Buffalo Museum of Science much better as I remember.
We spent many Sundays playing arcade games(trying to beat high score on the pinball machine without "tilting" it ) and eating wings at Cats Caboose or the Anchor Bar ( when in Buffalo); this was usually after mini putt or whatever the days agenda entailed. On the event that it was a special day, then sometimes a dinner would be at Casa del Toro for steak and a "Shirley Temple".
Dad bought me my first pair of Jeans and wedge shoes( I was so happy to be less of the "nerd" and to be able to run in the playground without worrying about a dress).
I am not sure about later years ,but when I was younger ,Dad loved Star Trek , some Sundays we were together we would hang out with a bucket of Pop Corn watching the Sci-fi series. At some point, we visited the NOTL airport - our famous Canadian actor "William Shatner " made a Guest appearance so we went to see him .Quite from afar , as I recall ,there were a lot of people.
In later years ,when I met my late husband Peter (also a Star Trek fan) , we too would enjoy many hours being watching the old and new series.
Thanks for many firsts , Dad .
Peaceful travels. Kirk out.
Love Kelly

Marsha, Jennifer, Jordan & Erin,
My heart goes out to all of you. Smile as you remember all the good times together in health and sickness.
Jennifer and Jordan when I spoke to Dad, he would always tell me what you two were doing with school, sports and work endeavours : he was always so proud of the two of you.
I am so grateful to you all for calling me, so that I could say good-bye.
Thank-you Jordan and Erin for taking the time to drive Dad to meet me when I was in Florida this past March. Lunch was lovely at Tarpon lake with you all.It was nice to meet Erin and share a couple laughs with Dad.
I am adding a few pics of Dad in his "younger" days to share and some fond memories of Dad when I was younger.
Take care of each other.
Kelly Tompkins (Torch) daughter
