Patricia M. Taylor's Obituary
Taylor, Patricia M., 77 of Trinity, Florida passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born (July 26, 1944) and raised in Lyndonville, New York with her siblings (Don, Linda and Jim). She graduated from Lyndonville Central High School in 1962 where she was homecoming queen, a cheerleader, and played clarinet in the band. She was well liked by her friends. Pat went on to graduate college from SUNY Brockport in 1966 where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education. Pat married her high school sweetheart (Dan) in July 1966. She started teaching in Holley, NY that same year and eventually taught in Barker and Lyndonville for Kindergarten through 12th grade. She coached girls’ synchronized swimming, basketball, soccer and volleyball. Her and Dan started a family in 1968 with their daughter Amy and their son Jeff in 1970. Pat also attended the University of Buffalo for her Master’s Degree from 1975-77. Pat was instrumental in the passing of Title 9 for women’s sports. She was a member and taught Sunday school at Lyndonville Presbyterian Church. The family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in the summer of 1979. They bought the Family Bike Shop and opened a contract postal station. Pat became a realtor and eventually went back to teaching and retired from New Heights Elementary (formally Tyrone Elementary). She was involved in all her children’s activities from working concessions and team mom at Meadowlawn Little League and Northeast Bandits Football as well as Coaching Soccer. She and Dan never wasted a single day. They enjoyed life together. Pat was kind and generous to all who knew her, she had a beautiful spirit and she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pat was affectionately known as Patty Remarkable, George, PT and her favorite, GG. She enjoyed the beach, golfing, picnics, playing cards, camping, crocheting, traveling and sports.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Virginia Myhill and her husband of 53 years, Daniel Taylor; Pat is survived by her Children: Amy Jones (James) and Jeffery Taylor (Renee); Grandchildren: Sara Coxwell, Jessica Taylor, Kaylyn Taylor, Daniel Taylor, Teresa French and Michael French; Great Grandchildren: Logan Coxwell, Charlotte Coxwell, Spencer Taylor and Wade Reyes; Brothers: Donald Myhill (Mary) and James Myhill (Cheryl); Sister: Linda Jones (Mike); Sister in Law: Norma Jean Pollard; Brother in Law: Mark Taylor (Lois) along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pat’s Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 1pm (calling hours start at Noon) at Trinity New Life Church, 11134 Challenger Ave, Odessa, FL 33556.
