Pamela Sweazy's Obituary
Born on September 2, 1939, to George and Laveda Pauley in Elkhart, Indiana, Pamela Kay Sweazy passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born and raised in Elkhart, where she enjoyed happy summers at the lake. In high school, she was a cheerleader, reflecting the fun-loving spirit she carried throughout her life. On September 22, 1956 she married her high school sweetheart, John Frank Sweazy, beginning a marriage that lasted more than 60 years.
Together they lived in California, later on the Oregon coast, and eventually retired to Florida. She worked as a secretary, and later in real-estate. She loved decorating, entertaining, bridge club, golfing, and creating a welcoming home. Friends remembered her warmth, kindness, humor, quick wit, and her striking blue eyes.
Her greatest joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Frank Sweazy. She is survived by her children, Lisa Marie Durkin, Michael John Sweazy, Louise Anne Kulju, and Phyllis Lynn Sweazy, 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Phyllis Dygert, who was not only her sister but her lifelong best friend.
