Nidia Chiacchio's Obituary
OBITUARY
Nidia Chiacchio, a world vacation travel advisor and resident of Trinity Florida, died suddenly on July 29, 2023 at the age of 73.
Nidia is survived by her husband, Louis Chiacchio; her daughters, Stephanie Chiacchio and Melissa Robson; her grandchildren Maiko and Lucy Llanes; her sister Aura Priegue; and brother-in law, Anthony Chiacchio, who considered Nidia a true sister. She is predeceased by her sisters Carmen Carcel and Mindy Calvo; and brother Raul Carcel.
Nidia was born in the Bronx, New York on March 16, 1950 to John and Anna Carcel, the youngest of five children. The family moved to Staten Island in 1964 and she eventually worked for partners in a brokerage firm in lower Manhattan as a coordinator and manager. Traveling to and from work on the Staten Island Ferry she met her future husband and on November 21st 1970 they were married.
Nidia's enjoyment of travel and knowledge of world destinations was evident to all who spoke with her. She made sure their vacations would be the easiest and most enjoyable. There was always a personal warmth and understanding shared between her and the traveler.
Above all, Nidia was a loving wife and devoted mother. She cared and guided her daughters to be what they are today, successful young women. She was a very kind and loving person who often thought of others before herself. She enjoyed reading books, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune game shows and Sci-Fi movies. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
A viewing will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens on Monday August 7th from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The funeral service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday August 8th at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
