Nelson Zambito's Obituary
Nelson P. Zambito, 90, passed away in the presence of his loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospital North in Lutz during the early morning hours of February 3, 2022.
He was born June 5, 1931 in Tampa. Nelson was the son of Angelo F. Zambito and Rose Zambito and the brother of Carmen Zambito DePaula, all of whom are deceased.
Nelson is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Pauline Papia Zambito, their children Nelson A. Zambito (Fiancée Mica), Andrea Zambito Molony (Husband Dan), Dorene Zambito, Jenifer Zambito Prado (Husband JC), Stephen Zambito (Wife Anna Marie), ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
A Tampa native, Nelson was a pioneer in the field of agriculture. He is noted for his efforts in cattle feed production, and the design and operation of commercial dairies. He was also recognized for his success in raising thoroughbred horses and his love of all animals.
Nelson enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those who knew Nelson would agree he was dignified, charming, and the epitome of style throughout his life. He will be extraordinarily missed by his immediate family, vast extended family, and countless friends.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be appreciated.
