Naomi Wise's Obituary
Naomi Wise, 79, of Port Richey, FL, passed away on September 19, 2024. She was born on April 18, 1945, in the Bronx, NY to Murray and Esther Shalomith, she was one of four siblings. She spent her early years in Catskill, NY, and later moved to North Miami Beach and Melbourne, FL, before settling permanently in Port Richey. After graduating high school, she briefly served in the United States Marine Corps until she gave birth to her son Michael Wise and left the service. Naomi completed her bachelor’s degree in special education, then became a schoolteacher. After she left teaching, she became an assembler with aerospace manufacturer Rockwell Collins.
When she was not working, Naomi could be often be found reading books, enjoying Celtic music, or crafting with needlepoint. More than anything else, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful mother to Michael, and grandmother to Brittany, Autumn, Michael, Justice, and Arius, and great-grandmother to Charlie, Kinsleigh, and Emma. She was proud of her Jewish heritage and loved sharing stories from her childhood and family gatherings. A proclaimed cat lover, she always had a cat for a pet, and her home was filled with feline memorabilia. She also collected angel figurines and Native American artwork.
Naomi is survived by her son Michael Wise and daughter-in-law Christine Wise Kimball; her sister Ruzina Busch; her grandchildren Brittany Deputy (David), Autumn Fairchild, Michael T. Wise, and Arius Smith; her great-grandchildren Charlie, Kinsleigh, and Emma; and her nephew Maxwell Brown (Hector Garcia Jr.). She was preceded in death by her parents Murray and Esther Shalomith, sister and brother-in-law Leona and Larry Brown, brother Hyman Sheilds, and her granddaughter Justice Bullock.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
