Nagarajan Venkataraman's Obituary
Nagarajan Venkataraman was born in 1939 in the village of Siddhamalli in Thanjavoor district, India to parents Smt. Rajam (Visalakshi) and Sri. Venkataraman. He was the second among six siblings - 4 sisters and one brother. After receiving his Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics from St. Xavier’s College, Thirunelveli, he started his career as a statistician in the Energy industry in Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC), where he served for 36 years and retired as Senior Manager Systems in 1997. He was an avid cricket player in Neyveli and played until his early 40s. He married Maragatham, his beloved wife of 52 years, and has two daughters, sons-in-law, and three grandchildren. He passed away on March 11th 2023 at the age of 83.
He was a life-long learner who was incredibly intelligent and hardworking. He was an affectionate husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He was knowledgeable in numerous fields, from spirituality to the arts. His devotion and religious knowledge has inspired those closest to him. He has made a deep and lasting impact on the lives of many and will be forever remembered for his perseverance, motivational endurance, inspiration, humility, and patience.
Nagarajan Venkataraman is survived by his wife Maragatham, his daughters - Uma and Jayanthi, his sons-in-law - Anil and Raghunath, his grandchildren - Sneha, Keshav, and Srimathi, his brother - Arunachalam, his nieces and nephews, his cousins and their families, and a large extended family.
