Mohan K. Vaswani's Obituary
Mohan Kishinchand Vaswani, 83, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022.
Mohan lived a life full of amazing experiences he shared with his family and friends. At an early age, he lived through the partition of India and Pakistan. Forced to leave his home in Hyderabad, Sindh, Mohan and his family moved to Ajmer, India. While he faced many struggles resulting from exile, Mohan remained an extremely ambitious and determined individual. He was never deterred by any obstacles life threw at him. His attitude remained that if someone else could do it, he could do it too - and do it better.
After college and a brief stint in law school, Mohan moved to Bombay (now Mumbai) where he attended flight school to pursue a career in aviation and became a pilot for Indian Airlines. In the early 1970s, Mohan immigrated to America and became an entrepreneur. He spent years in the retail jewelry business both in partnership with his brothers and as a sole proprietor. After retiring in his mid 50s, he turned to real estate investing and management. He lived in the Tampa Bay area for almost 40 years.
Mohan is survived by his loving, yet heartbroken, wife, Poonam, of 44 years, who provided her full unwavering support of him and remained by his side until the very end. He is also survived by his son, Vijay, who strives to emulate the same ambition and determination he learned from his father, as well as his daughter-in-law, Divya Savdas, and two grandsons, Rajer and Jaisen, all of whom he loved very much. His stories live on through his brothers Moti, Laxman, and Prem and their families, to whom he was so very attached.
A visitation will take place at 1:00 PM Eastern on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Trinity Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, located at 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, Florida 34655. His funeral services will commence at 2:00 PM Eastern. His family welcomes those who can be there in person as well as those who can only attend virtually via the link below.
