Mohan Nandlall's Obituary
It is with great sadness, that the family of Mohan Nandlall, announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the age of 70, in New Port Richey, Florida.
Mohan, son of the late Etwaria and Ramdut Nandlall, or as many knew him, Joe or Prem, was born on August 28, 1954, in Zeeland E.C. Demerara, Guyana.
He was a devoted father, partner/ husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and son who loved his family and would give the shirt off his back, to anyone in need. He will be lovingly remembered by his partner/ wife of 30 years, Bobbie, his daughter, Shanti Marie, his grandson, Zayn Alexander, his son Tony, his brothers, Doc, Baney and Sam, his sisters, Joyce, Susie, Silo, Chan, Indra and Shanta, and his many nieces and nephews. He will also be dearly missed by his friends, Sam, Keith, Azad, Z100, Robin and countless others.
Beyond his family life, Joe built a successful life in New York as a business owner but will be remembered as the proprietor of Sunshine Car Service in Queens, New York. He loved sitting at his desk, sipping his coffee and dispatching. You knew the voice who answered the calls between 5am-3pm. When business was slow, Joe would be seen playing cards or dominoes with his drivers. He always made everyone feel like they were part of his extended family. Joe enjoyed betting on horses. He would be seen at Aqueduct Racetrack placing his bets.
In Central Florida, he achieved his longtime dream of purchasing land to establish his farm and enjoyed tending to various livestock. He was a gentle soul, known for his generosity, tough exterior, warm heart and love of animals. He especially loved Indian music, nature and had a one-of-a-kind dry sense of humor. His jokes and use of nicknames for others will forever live on.
Upon retirement two years ago, Joe found his forever home in New Port Richey, Florida, where he built a life with Bobbie. This move also brought him closer to his daughter and grandson. Nothing made Joe happier than being surrounded by the people he loved and who loved him.
Please join us at Trinity Memorial Gardens Funeral Home where his family and friends can pay their final respects and celebrate the life of this amazing man.
