Michael Anthony Massaro's Obituary
Michael Anthony Massaro, 60, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his mother, Nydia Valdes; stepdaughter, Samantha Lopez; brother, Rene Massaro (Glenda); sister, Natalie Castellano (Brian); and aunts, Hope Rodriguez and Denise Linares (Arlene).
He also leaves behind 12 nieces and nephews, 11 great-nieces and nephews, 1 great-great-nephew, and many loving cousins.
Michael was a very talented and artistic man whose creativity knew no bounds. His greatest passion was music, especially percussion instruments.
He played with the Bob Thompson Band, releasing one commercial CD and touring internationally to promote the album. In addition, he was a studio musician who collaborated with several nationally known bands. He had incredible vision and could see beauty and possibility where others could not.
He inspired many family members to learn musical instruments and was always willing to teach others.
Michael was a special man with a huge heart who touched the lives of many friends, coworkers, and family members. His physical presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in everyone he touched.
May you rest, dear Michael, and feel the love of your Abuela, Abuelo, and God our Father.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 28th, at St. Lawrence Church in Tampa.
