Melville C Mudge Jr.'s Obituary
Mel Mudge, age 79, of Trinity, FL, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born in St. Albans, NY and grew up in Merrick, NY. Mel attended Calhoun High School and received his bachelors degree at Hofstra University and his MBA at Long Island University. In addition to a career in IT management at Doubleday, Mel served 6 years in the United States Army and retired as a Captain.
Mel loved boating, golfing, art, the beach, and watching all his favorite sports teams. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, Poppy, brother, uncle, and friend. He was always the life of the party and was beloved by all who had the pleasure to meet him.
Mel is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol Mudge; children, Michael Mudge (Melissa), Janelle Petti (Steve); grandchildren, Reagan L. Petti, Stephen R. Petti, Ryan M. Mudge; and sister Karen Duffy.
