Matthew George Krebs' Obituary
Husband, father, friend, business leader, brother, and son Matthew George Krebs, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2022 with his wife by his side. Despite the trials and tribulations he faced during his sudden illness, his faith remained strong and steadfast. Understanding that’s Gods plan was greater than his own, he bravely accepted his destiny and returned home to the Lord.
Born April 6, 1963 to Ronald and Jeannine Krebs in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Matt enjoyed a wonderful childhood. He displayed an affinity for music and quickly mastered the trumpet, which lead him to earning first chair and soloist honors. Like his father before him, Matt excelled on the baseball field and was a proficient batter and infielder. After high school, Matt earned a scholarship to Iowa State University where he studied music and was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity.
Matt began his illustrious professional career in the sales and marketing space, specializing in the security industry. Over the years he developed many successful business programs for organizations and was an influential mentor for many of his colleagues. Ultimately, he earned the level of Vice President of business development for Motorola Solutions providing critical security infrastructure to organizations in North America.
As much as Matt loved being a leader and mentor in the security industry, he was a family man first and foremost. His family was his greatest accomplishment and ultimate treasure. He was an amazing, devoted husband who loved his wife Denise more than anything. They and their dogs (Roxy and Grace) created the most happy and peaceful life in Tampa, FL. He was also the dad who couldn’t be more proud of his daughter Samantha and the woman she turned out to be. One of the most monumental moments in Matt’s life was giving Samantha’s hand in marriage and welcoming his new son Austin.
Matt had a courageous spirit and inspired his family and those who loved him by knowing, through his strong faith, that a better place was waiting for him. Matt left this earth serenely, with the comfort of knowing that he will meet his family again in heaven. Although he is no longer here physically, his spirit and legacy will live on forever.
Matt is survived by his loving wife Denise Krebs, their daughter Samantha Moore, father Ronald Krebs, sister Katey Gabrielson and brothers Mike Krebs and Mitch Krebs. He was preceded in death by his mother Jeannine Krebs and brother Mark Krebs.
Matt has requested that any memorial gifts in his name be directed to Tunnel to Towers as that organization stands for Matt’s beliefs. It symbolizes strength, hope and the resilience of our American spirit. While also reminding us never to forget the sacrifices of those who dedicate themselves to protecting us.
