Matthew Graziaplene's Obituary
Matthew Graziaplene, 64, of Odessa, Florida, passed away on March 23, 2026, in New Port Richey, Florida. He was born on July 5, 1961, in Staten Island, New York, to the late Attilio and Frances Graziaplene.
Matt was a man of deep creativity and endless imagination. A graduate of West Covina High School’s Class of 1979, he went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Art from the University of South Florida, where he further developed his lifelong passion for filmmaking and music. He especially loved creating music videos—filming, editing, and producing projects that allowed him to pour his heart into every frame. His creativity didn’t stop behind the camera; Matt also wrote several of his own songs, using music and storytelling as an outlet to express emotion, humor, and his unique view of the world.
Throughout his life, Matt faced challenges with remarkable strength and resilience. He never allowed obstacles to define him. Instead, he met each one with determination, always doing things in his own way. His strong will shaped the life he lived—authentically, independently, and boldly.
He enjoyed many hobbies, including his lifelong love of cars, and treasured simple traditions like his weekly Pizza Fridays. More than anything, Matt cherished time spent with his many nieces and nephews. He had a special bond with his nephew Drew, who was truly his sidekick. Whether they were filming together, sharing laughs, or simply enjoying each other's company, their connection brought Matt tremendous joy.
Matt is survived by his siblings, Deborah Garcia and Steve Graziaplene, along with his many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Attilio and Frances Graziaplene.
He will be remembered for the art he created, the music he wrote, his unwavering strength, and the love he shared. His legacy lives on in the stories, videos, and memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
