Mason William Fox's Obituary
Mason William Fox, 10, of Land O' Lakes, Florida, passed away on February 18, 2024, after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born on March 8, 2013, in Tampa, Florida, to Michael and Leslie Fox. He was the oldest of four brothers: Raylan, Camden and Emerson.
Mason was a sweet, kind and empathetic boy who always had a smile on his face. He loved his family more than anything and always wanted them to be together. He enjoyed spending time with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, especially during the holidays and family gatherings.
He was the oldest cousin on his mother's side and often organized and led activities with the twelve younger cousins. He loved sleepovers at Grandma and Papa's and Nana's houses. He loved making homemade chocolate milk with Grandma, throwing the baseball around with Papa and taking walks with Nana at Lake Park.
Mason had a passion for hockey and played it in every form possible: knee hockey, roller hockey, ball hockey and ice hockey. He was a member of multiple ice hockey teams and the Oakstead Elementary ball hockey team and wore the number 92. He was known for his red gloves and his amazing hockey IQ. His hockey hype song was Barbie Girl and he always got his team singing and dancing with him. He was determined to make it to the NHL and was a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning. He loved watching playoff hockey with his mom and squeezing her hand tightly.
Mason was also a talented chef and loved to make homemade French fries, complex dishes and grilled foods. He even made the family Thanksgiving dinner in May. He loved to read books, especially the Dog Man, Cat Kid, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Captain Underpants series. He was a member of the National Elementary Honor Society and was in accelerated math. He received numerous recognitions and awards for his academics.
Mason loved to play with his brothers and do all kinds of fun activities with them. They rode electric scooters, had nerf battles, had family movie nights with homemade popcorn, played in the pool and hot tub, roller bladed, rode bikes and went to parks and playgrounds. Mason also loved to paint with Emerson, play in the mud pit with Camden, play catch with Raylan and sleep in his parents' bed with his mom when his dad was on duty. He loved to build lego sets, read and cook with his dad. He built a whole lego city on their dining room table. He enjoyed playing Fortnite with his friends and family.
Mason loved everything Star Wars, Spiderman, Stitch, glamping and toy model trains. He loved to watch Big City Greens, the Mighty Ducks movies and other shows. He loved to dance everywhere: school, locker rooms and family dance parties at home. He loved his dog Lacie so much and is now in heaven loving on her and rubbing her belly.
