Mary Jeanine Cummings Tolbert's Obituary
Mary Jeanine Cummings Tolbert, 91, of Trinity, Florida, passed away on March 25, 2023. Jeanine was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to R. John and Miriam Cummings. She attended Brigham Young University where she met the college sweetheart who swept her off her feet and invited her to embark on a happily-ever-after journey. Textbooks were exchanged for lifelong roles in homemaking, genealogy, and a variety of volunteer positions at her church. She and her husband found great joy in serving on an LDS mission in Oregon. Jeanine was an avid golfer, gardener, and reader, and enjoyed staying in touch with friends and loved ones with clever greeting card creations. Music shaped every facet of her life, and she was an accomplished piano and organ accompanist. Her greatest fan was her husband. Both held to the sentiment, “Life is a song; love is the music.”
Jeanine was preceded in death by Wilbur Norman Tolbert, her husband of 63 years. She is survived by her children: Karen Jones (Vaughn), Valerie Banfield, David Tolbert (Anita), and Joyce Tolbert; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be handled by Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, FL 34655, (727)376-7824 and will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 31 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 7851 Lutz Lake Fern Rd., Odessa, FL 33556. Visiting hours are from 1:00 to 2:00.
