Mary Burns' Obituary
Marion (Mary) Burns, born July 1, 1931, in New York City, passed away peacefully with her children at her bedside on March 16, 2022 in Tampa, Florida. Marion was a first generation Irish-American raised in Rockaway Beach, NY. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Burns and two siblings, Josie Kearney and Buddy Lyons. Marion is survived by her children Joseph Burns (Elizabeth), Maryellen Cravens (Neal), Brian Burns, her grandchildren Owen Burns (Courtney), Maria Burns, Joseph Burns, Kelly Cravens, Brian Cravens, Ian Burns, Morgan McGriff (Erick), Kira Burns, her great grandchildren Aurora, Preston, Joey and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Marion was an adored mother, devoted grandmother, and proud great-grandmother. She was a lover of sweets, tea and Irish Soda Bread, which she shared at her Sunday family dinners. She was very generous, kind, loyal and compassionate. Much of her life revolved around her faith, dedication to prayer, bible study and to Jesus. She was part of a vibrant church community at St. Paul Catholic Church. Marion’s funeral service will be held Friday, March 25th at St. Paul Church, 12708 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa.
