Marvin R. Rodriguez's Obituary
Marvin Rodriguez, a man of deep faith in family and a passion for life, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, March 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, hard work, and unshakeable loyalty. Born on December 12, 1978, in New Haven, Connecticut, to Felix Rodriguez and Carmen Torres. Marvin was a proud older brother to his sister, Jenica. Growing up surrounded by a large, vibrant circle of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Marvin learned early on that family was the heartbeat of everything.
A 1998 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School, Marvin's life took a beautiful turn at the age of 25. During a visit to a favorite cousin in Tampa, he fell in love with the Florida sunshine and the promise of a new chapter. With a leap of faith, he traded his hometown of New Haven for the Gulf Coast, a move that would define his future forever.
Marvin was a man of dedication. He spent a decade as an Insurance Agent; a career built on helping others protect what matters most. Recently, he followed his heart into Real Estate, where he found immense joy in searching for new communities to help families discover their forever homes.
Those who knew Marvin knew the things that made his eyes light up: his love for the San Francisco 49ers, his Jordan collection, and his passion for sports cars, specifically the Nissan GTR. However, his greatest adventure began in 2017 when he met the beautiful love of his life, Amie. Both working for USAA, they were introduced by their mutual best friend, Danny Escobar. With a simple "Hey, my good friend Amie works in the Mortgage Department, you should hit her up" and an instant message, a love story began. Marvin and Amie were married on February 26, 2022, and spent nine wonderful years together. From cheering at Yankee games and "Sunday Funday" with his Sagittarius Twin to family cruises and cheering on his Niners at his favorite local spots. Marvin lived for these shared moments. Above all his professional success, Marvin's proudest achievements were personal: becoming a homeowner and, most importantly, being a father to his son, Nick. He loved his family deeply.
Marvin is survived by his devoted wife, Amie Vaca; his beloved son, Nicholas Vaca; parents, Felix Rodriguez and Carmen Torres; his sister, Jenica (Tomas) Herazo, and his cherished niece Adrianna. He also leaves behind his in-laws, Bolivar and Carmen Vaca; siblings-in-law Joyce, Jaclyn (Gerald), Wellington (Jacqueline), Miguel (Geovanna), all his nieces and nephews (in-laws), as well as a host of relatives, cousins, and friends, who will miss him immensely. Marvin lived life with his heart wide open. We take comfort in knowing he is now in his ultimate forever home, watching over us all.
