Marie Montgomery's Obituary
Marie E. Montgomery, age 89, passed away on May 18, 2021.
Marie was born In Brooklyn, NY on October 23, 1931 to the late Peter and Madeline Volberg. She was raised in Laurelton, Queens NY. Upon her high school graduation, she worked as a secretary in Manhattan, NY until she got married. She married her lifelong love, Kenneth, in 1951. They raised their two daughters in Farmingdale, NY prior to moving to Tampa, FL in 2001.
Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, baking, cake decorating, shopping, socializing and spending time with her family. She took great pride in being a housewife and stay at home mother. She fostered lifelong friendships everywhere she went and self proclaimed herself as “having the gift to gab”. She will be remembered for being thoughtful, generous and kindhearted. She was known for her funny one line sayings in almost any situation.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth J. Montgomery. They were married 67 years at the time of his death in 2019.
Marie is survived by her two daughters, Donna Brennan (Ed) and Maureen Dumesnil (Paul). Grandchildren Tricia Patron (Brandon), Eddie Brennan (Cristina), Thomas Dumesnil (Samantha), Chris Dumesnil (Mariana). Step grandchildren Paul Dumesnil III and Bryan Dumesnil. Great grandchildren Tyler, Alyssa, Brayden, Juliana, Theodore, Callum, Valentino, Bella and Max.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 25 from 10:30am-12:30pm at Trinity Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Trinity, FL. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday May 25 at 1pm at St Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Trinity, FL. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
