Marc Travis' Obituary
Marc Brooks Travis, 63, passed away on March 29, 2026, in Tampa, FL. He was born in Miami, Florida on August 3, 1962, the son of Jack M. Travis and Dorothy C. Brooks.
He attended Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School in Miami, Florida where he played in the band and cemented his passion for the local Miami Dolphins. After a few years, Marc became a firefighter. Upon his 30s, he went into hospitality and was a bartender with Marriott World Center in Orlando for many years, later moving to Tampa in 2014 to work with McKibbon Hospitality.
Marc will always be remembered for his kind, caring, and genuinely loving spirit, which he shared freely with everyone he met. He had a remarkable way of making people feel welcome and valued, treating friends, neighbors, and even strangers like family. A lifelong and devoted Miami Dolphins fan, Marc’s passion was unmistakable—his home was filled wall to wall with Dolphins décor, and he proudly wore his team’s colors from childhood through every stage of his life. He also found his sense of purpose in his years as a bartender, where his warm personality and easygoing nature made him beloved by coworkers and patrons alike. Beyond his love of football, Marc found peace and happiness at the beach, where he could relax and take in the beauty of the ocean. Above all, he offered unwavering love, support, and care for his family. His nurturing heart and generous spirit will be dearly missed and forever cherished by those who knew and loved him.
Marc is preceded in death by mother Camille Brooks and father Jack Travis, and is survived by brothers Chris Meyerson and Jarret Travis, and sister Jessica Travis. He will be greatly missed and remembered by the many people he touched throughout his life.
A visitation will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens on April 18, 2026, from 3-5pm followed with a service at 5pm. The cemetery burial will take place in Woodlawn North Cemetery in Miami, FL on April 20, 2026.
