Maisie Oleta Jones (née Sinckler), born on March 11, 1925, in Saint Philip, Barbados, to Evangeline Sinckler, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, in her home in Tampa, Florida, watched over by her dedicated daughter Francine Jones. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family. She was the beloved daughter of Evangeline Sinckler.
Maisie was the cherished sister of Daphney, Lawson (Son), Lionel, and Doris Sinckler, all of whom predeceased her.
She was a devoted mother to Alther Ifill, Arleigh Sinckler, Jenny and Trevor Sinckler (deceased), Cameron Sinckler, Hadley & Francine Jones, and Margo Jones-Hope. A guiding light as a stepmother to Waple Parish and Herbert Jones.
As a grandmother, Maisie was adored by Boswell, Cameron P, Travis, Jason, and Robin Sinckler, Darian Clark, and Roderick & Fay Ifill. Her love extended to her great-grandchildren: Lauren and Leah Ifill, Kai Clark, Anika, Tiona, Amma, Takiyah, Luc, Kaitlyn, Yehmya, Zuri, Zavery, Tyler, and Chad Sinckler.
Maisie was also a beloved aunt to Cotell & Cortney (deceased), Carnetta, Clovell, Clydalia, and Cleveland Sinckler, and a great-aunt to Gregory and Mechel Sinckler, among many others in Barbados.
She was a cherished mother-in-law to Monica Sinckler (deceased), Jeffrey Ifill, and Vernon Hope.
Maisie was a relative of the Sinckler, Blenman, Williams, and Wilson families in Barbados.
Maisie was a loving mother, a dedicated grandmother, and a wonderful great-grandmother. She was a pillar of strength in her family, maintaining strong family ties that continue to be felt through her children and extended family. A woman of faith, Maisie always attended church in her best attire, embodying her deep spiritual commitment.
Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but there is comfort in knowing that she is now singing and dancing in heaven, truly blessed. Her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
