Lynne McKinney Kerns' Obituary
Lynne McKinney Kerns passed away in Tampa at the age of 71 on March 5, 2025. She was born in Paducah, KY to Jack and Maye McKinney. Lynne graduated from the University of Louisville and went on to teach fourth grade and raise her three children.
She was an avid Kentucky basketball fan and a tough competitor on the tennis court who struck fear in her opponents when she approached the net. The determination she showed on the court was only surpassed by the strength of her devotion to her family who knew that no one would stand by them more steadfastly or love them more unconditionally. For her children, mom would always be their most unwavering supporter, fiercest ally, and the one person who they could always count on.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed.
She was predeceased by her parents; her niece Carly Marquess and her beloved Pomeranian ‘Fiesty’. She is survived by her son, Jeremy Hall (Kristy) of Nashville, TN; her daughters, Jaclyn Slaughter (Jake) of Franklin, TN, and Courtney Grissom (Corey) of Tampa, FL, and; her grandsons, Jackson Hall and Harrison Hall; and her granddaughter Atlas Lynn Grissom; and her siblings: Lil Marquess of The Villages, FL; Jan Myers of Louisville, KY; Tim McKinney of Mayfield, KY; and Ken McKinney of Oakland, CA.
