Lois Raphael 's Obituary
On Saturday August 24, 2019 Lois Lynn Raphael loving mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 79.
Lois was born on February 14th 1940 in New York, New York to Carolyn and Sidney Raphael of Scarsdale NY. She received her degree in Education from New York University in 1962. She married soon after and was a homemaker for many years raising her 3 boys. As her sons got older she became a volunteer teacher using her degree in education to help others. Lois had a special knack for children with developmental challenges and truly enjoyed working with those who required some extra help and care.
In 1981 Lois moved with her children to New Orleans and joined the work force in retail sales where she worked for more than 20 years at Maison Blanche. She was consistently one of their top saleswomen and thrived working in sales. She loved New Orleans with all her heart and raised her family in Metairie. She retired in 2002 and moved to Florida to be closer to her family.
Her great love and passion was her family. She was a wonderful caregiver later in life to her mother Carolyn. Her favorite activity was spending time with her 3 sons and their families. She especially enjoyed watching all sporting events with them and her favorite team was the New Orleans Saints. She also was a passionate animal owner caring for many dogs and always on the watch for an animal that needed rescuing.
Lois was preceded in death by her father Sidney and her mother Carolyn. She is survived by her 3 sons Marc, Fred and Michael Daner, her brother Norman Raphael and her 3 daughters in laws and 6 grandchildren.
