Linda Miller's Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we remember and celebrate the life of Linda Allyn Miller, a remarkable and fiercely independent woman who touched so many lives. Linda passed away on June 20, 2024 in Hudson, FL, after spending time with her family and some cherished friends.
Linda was a dedicated respiratory therapist for over 50 years, a testament to her unwavering commitment of caring for others. Her work ethic was unparalleled. She often volunteered to work on Christmas, ensuring that her colleagues with families could enjoy that time with their loved ones. Instead, she would spend Thanksgiving together with her family, creating cherished memories. She would always bring her amazing baked desserts and treats that she loved to share with others.
Linda was born on November 22, 1948 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, William and Hazel Miller.
Linda had a deep love for many things including baking, animals, church, movies, sports (especially bowling) and people. Those that loved Linda knew that their time with Linda often was filled with movie marathons. Her love for gadgets meant she was never empty-handed; she always had something new and exciting to share with us, bringing joy and laughter to many a gathering.
As an aunt, she was the first person to take her niece and nephew to do things like fishing, a memory that remains vivid to them both today. Watching her run a marathon was another inspiring moment; her determination and strength were truly remarkable. Linda had a passion for sports and often volunteered her time over many years for the Special Olympics, along with many other things she did over her lifetime to give back to others.
St. Simon's was a special place for Linda, a sanctuary where she found peace and joy. Her love for animals was evident in her compassionate actions, especially when she rescued a special needs cat that no one else would take. This act of kindness perfectly encapsulates the kind of person she was—caring and full of love. Her spirit and resilience were evident in everything she did, from her professional life to her personal passions. She loved sports, and her enthusiasm was infectious, drawing everyone into her world of excitement and fervor.
Linda is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Richard; niece, Heather; nephew, Daniel; and great nephews, Connor and Bryce and many cherished friends.
Thank you to everyone who was a good friend to Linda. We are forever grateful for the impact you made on her life.
