Lily Blau's Obituary
Lily Blau, 90 passed away yesterday, June 7, 2021. Daughter of Adolph and Anna Segal she was born in Bucharest, Romania in 1931. Her parents believed strongly in education and she and her sister Mimy were translating books into various languages at a young age. She emigrated to the United States in 1966. Shortly thereafter she met Eugene Blau. She loved classical music and enjoyed playing her 1957 Wurlitzer piano. Lily had an amazing career as a special education teacher. Lily spoke 7 languages and was always happy to speak with someone in their native tongue. She was an avid collector of Giuseppe Armani dolls and a whiz at Sudoku. She and Gene retired to Florida and enjoyed a happy life together. She has desperately missed her Gene since his passing last year. She is survived by her cousin Ygal Yancovitz and nephews Jerry and Louie Landesman. Her trademark red hair and red lipstick will be missed by her many, many friends.
