Leo L. Weisgal's Obituary
Leo Lawrence Weisgal passed away at his home in San Antonio, Florida on June 25, 2020. He was 73.
Leo is survived by his wife Faye Weisgal, children Alyse Prager, Jaron Weisgal (wife Jennifer), Judd Weisgal (wife Jessie), and grandsons Jakob and Jaden Weisgal.
Born on August 21, 1946 in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York to Lillian and Jacob Weisgal, Leo graduated from Far Rockaway High School in 1964, and married the love of his life Faye Rothberg, on September 15,1968.
Leo proudly served in the United States Army in Vietnam, and after moving to Levittown, Long Island in 1977, became an entrepreneur who traveled with “James E. Strates Shows” where he was the proprietor of “Eat Mees Fun Foods”, which consisted of multiple concession stands operating nation wide at fairs and other events.
This began his 30 year career as a salesman, during which he built a successful gasoline distribution company, “Petroleum Supply Corporation”, which became one of the most successful “Gulf” franchises on the East coast.
In 2006, Leo retired to Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club in San Antonio, Florida to be closer to his grandsons and enjoy year-round golf.
An accomplished and highly skilled magician, Leo would constantly entertain family, friends and sometimes strangers with incredible card play, mentalism, and stagecraft.
A supremely generous individual who loved helping others, people always said of Leo, “He is one of the nicest guys I know.”
A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday June 28, 2020 at 9:30AM at Trinity Memorial Gardens located at 12609 Memorial Drive Trinity, Florida.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions attendance will be limited to close family and friends.
