Lawrence Spenceley 's Obituary
Spenceley, Lawrence "Larry" A., 72, of Port Richey, died peacefully March 29, 2020. He was born January 14, 1948 in Queens, NY to Henry G. and Dorothy Lishinsky Spenceley. After his mother's early passing, he was raised by his father and Francine Spenceley.
Larry was a Petty Officer Second Class in the Navy and 27 years retired Navy Reserves. He was a devoted father to his loving children. He enjoyed music of all kinds, volunteering at the Red Apple Adult Training Center, and photography. He did wedding photography and portraits as owner of Spenceley Photography. He worked for 11 years at Baldomero Lopez Veterans Hospital in Land O’ Lakes and retired as a senior CNA.
He was active in the West Pasco Shutterbugs Camera Club and served as treasurer of the West Pasco Audubon Society from Spring 2017 until Fall 2019. He was involved the Society's conservation programs by monitoring local Bald Eagles' nests as part of EagleWatch and by keeping an eye on Least Tern nests during breeding season as part of Audubon’s Rooftop Nesting Monitoring program. He also helped lead efforts to build the bird blind on Grassy Lake.
He is survived by daughter Jennifer King (Mike) of Spring Hill, son David Spenceley of Tampa, brother Steve Spenceley (Linda) of Spring Hill, brother-in-law Gary Harris of Rockport, TX, and loving nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He was predeceased by his sister Rebecca Harris and parents, Dorothy, Dr. Henry G., and Francine Spenceley.
