Laura Beth Morris' Obituary
Laura Beth Morris, age 70, loving mother of four passed away peacefully Friday January 13th 2023 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Florida. She was born in Washington, D.C. on February 26th 1952 to her mother, Jeanette Lindberg Baines and her father, John F. Baines, Jr. She attended Wheaton Highschool where she earned her diploma and cosmetology certificate. Laura lived in Rockville, Maryland where she met and married her husband of 45 years, John L. Morris, Jr. She and her husband moved their family to Florida in 1979, where she worked in the cosmetology field for over 40 years.
Laura’s passion was her family. She loved spending time with her husband, children, parents, brothers and their wives, and her grandchildren. She was especially good at texting her grandchildren with words of encouragement. Laura loves her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Despite the peaks and valleys of life, she often spoke of the special time with God in her daily devotion.
Laura is preceded in death by her husband John, brother Richard “Dick” Baines, and her grandson Alexander Hilton Smith. Sean Morris (Chrissy), Robert Morris (Sandy), Amy Smith (Jeff), Janel Polsenberg (Doug), brothers John “Mike” Baines (Sherry), Mark Baines, Brian Baines, grandchildren Ean Morris, Rylee Morris, Jackie Smith, Laura Polsenberg, Katelyn Morris, Delaney Morris, Emma Beth Morris, Jack Morris, Hayden Morris, and two great grandchildren Mason and Wyatt.
A celebration of Laura’s life will be held on Wednesday January 18th, 2023 at Trinity Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:30 am to 11:00 am, immediately followed by the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be made to one of the following:
