Lamar Lallerstedt's Obituary
Lamar Lallerstedt, a man cherished for his kindness and gentle spirit, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024. His life was a testament to love, integrity and faith, qualities that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Lamar was born on December 17 1942 to Herman and Georgia Lallerstedt. Lamar was brother to Lynn McClendon, Debbie Corder, and Carl Lallerstedt.
Lamar's greatest joy came from his family. Above all, Lamar was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Judith, whom he cherished beyond measure. Now reunited in heaven, their bond remains eternal. He was a loving father to daughters Sallie Swinford, Isis Shawver and son Jeff Lallerstedt. “Papa” as he was affectionately called, was adored by his grandchildren: James Shawver, Anthony & Haylee Swinford, Kayla Swinford, Cristina & Ben Meyer, and Rachel Shawver. His great-grandchild, Obadiah Meyer, held a special place in his heart.
Lamar began his professional journey with honorable service to his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. Lamar spent 25 years working for the Baxter Company before finishing his career at Publix. He was also a proud member of the American Legion Post 147.
Lamar was a man of deep faith who has crossed into his eternal journey, but his kindness and sweet soul will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his love. His absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and the community he enriched with his presence.
A celebration of Lamar's life will be held to honor his memory at Church at Odessa (1234 Gunn Hwy., Odessa, Fl 33556) on August 3rd 2024 at 11:00 am.
