Kenneth Parker's Obituary
It is with sadness that we announce that Kenneth (Kenny) Leon Parker passed away Wednesday morning, July 3, 2024 at 9:28 a.m. with his sister by his side. Kenny was born in Bakersfield, California on November 15, 1958 and was the son of the late Donald Hugh Parker and Muriel Jean (Burnett) Gaeta (and her late husband Daniel Gaeta).
From the time he was four years old, Kenny had a passionate love for motorcycles that continued his entire life. As a child, he would ride in the foothills of Bakersfield. He went on to build and race flat track motorcycles in both California and Florida. Bike Week in Daytona was a favorite time of year for Kenny and his brother Doug.
Kenny attended Foothill High School in Bakersfield, California. During this time, he loved his job as a cook at the Ranch House located at the Grapevine. Since he was little, he aways wanted to be in the kitchen. He enjoyed cooking for most of his life. After he graduated high school in 1977, Kenny went on to join the Kern County Lath and Plaster Association. Kenny moved from his hometown of Bakersfield to Tampa, Florida when he was 21 years old to be with family. He worked at TECO as a mechanic for their vehicle fleet for over 20 years. Kenny was always nostalgic about Bakersfield, his friends, and time spent with his motorcycles.
Kenny is survived by his son Kenneth (Kenny) L. Parker, II (Jaimie). His other survivors include his grandchildren Abbigail Parker, Johnny Parker, Kenneth (Kenny) L. Parker, III, Clayton Parker, and Daisy Chavez. He was brother to Douglas Parker and Karen Parker Chindanusorn (and brother-in-law to her late husband Tom Chindanusorn). He leaves behind his niece Tamara Weiss-Chindanusorn (Otto) and their son, his great nephew, Cayden Weiss-Chindanusorn. He leaves behind many other family members and friends that he shared great memories with over the years. Our love for Kenny lives on.
