Kenneth Buss' Obituary
Kenneth James Buss, 84, died of natural causes July 15, 2022. He was born May 7, 1938 in Gresham, WI, the son of Alex and Helen Buss.
Ken was a true entrepreneur and spent most of his life in a variety of industries. His younger days were spent in Racine designing and building homes where he met the love of his life Phyllis Ferg in 1957. The couple married after a 4 month courtship and eventually moved to Tampa, Florida in 1973. He founded Buss Aluminum Products and his teams, including his 3 sons, installed over 20,000 screen rooms, car ports and other aluminum structures in Sun City Center in the 70s-80s. With Ken’s entrepreneurial spirit he dabbled in cattle ranching, tomato packing, single family home investing, jewelry and coin dealing, car sales, steel building design and construction. In the 90s he also helped his son Michael create Tampa Rollform selling aluminum products, machines, and coil all over the U.S.
Ken enjoyed traveling all over the world fishing and exploring. His younger years he spent traveling across the U.S. with his brother Hank checking on tractors and equipment for a Wisconsin firm, always happy to visit a new town and send letters back to his wife and kids at each stop. Later in life his favorite times were spent in the Florida Keys and Soldotna, Alaska where he and Phyllis spent over 10 summers fishing salmon on the Kenai.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Scott J Buss and son-in-law Keith Stanley; his brothers Robert Buss and Henry Buss; his sisters Mary Anne Buss, Helen Krueger, Dorothy Klitzka, Ella Matz, Irene Baker, Rosemary Warden, Elizabeth Buss.
