Keith Tanner's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we share with you today that Keith Tanner succumbed to his battle with esophageal cancer. With his loving wife Christine at his side all these years Keith was a mentor to all those who knew him professionally and a friend to all who knew him in general. Keith had a great smile, a kind heart, and a funny sense of humor.
A caring man who stopped to help those around him Keith will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he touched and by the family he has left behind. An avid cyclist Keith made sure to always take the time to enjoy the small things in life and feel the breeze. May we all remember him for his enthusiastic personality and that same joy that he spread to us all.
Professionally, Keith was a cornerstone at the St. Petersburg site, as one of the founders of the Optishell ® technology. Keith worked for Catalent for 41 years before taking a medical leave of absence in June. Keith launched the first Optishell ® Rx product with Rayaldee, a great accomplishment and a critical time-released drug for those with kidney disease. Keith was a Technology Manager in Product Development, but we all knew him as the Guru for the Optishell ® technology.
Some of the memories his coworkers have include his eternal optimism in the face of serious technical challenges, his breakfasts with his friend and coworker Liz Youngblood where they would share burnt bagels and tea before starting the day, his love for cycling and his little yellow Z3 that he used to drive to work.
Catalent Team Member and Friend: 1982 - 2023
