Kathy Belcher's Obituary
With profound love and heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Kathy, Evalon Belcher.
Evalon Kathleen “Kathy” Belcher, age 75, passed away on March 12, 2026, in Dade City, Florida, surrounded by family.
Kathy was born on May 2, 1950, in Coral Gables, Florida, to Cornelius Carson Coffield and Evalon Mae Coffield (née Swenson). She graduated from Hialeah High School in 1968.
She later pursued a career in insurance, earning multiple licenses mid-life, an accomplishment she was very proud of. Throughout her life, she worked in roles including insurance, Publix GreenWise, floral design, administration, and other service-oriented positions, bringing dedication, care, and personality into everything she did.
The role she was most proud of was being a mother and homemaker, and later a grandmother. She was deeply involved in the day-to-day lives of her grandsons. She was always there as a steady presence, often stepping in to help, support, and care for them.
She touched many lives in different ways and will remain forever in our hearts. At her core, she was a precious child of God, and we take comfort in knowing she has returned to Him.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Kathy was known for her warmth, her generosity, and her love of creating spaces where others felt welcomed, safe, and cared for. She brought beauty and connection to so many. Her presence was both comforting and vibrant, full of personality, love, and care.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and a joyful spirit. She loved to laugh, enjoyed movies and comedy, loved dancing, and found joy in entertainment and time spent with others.
She had a passion for planning and hosting events, creating beautiful spaces, gardening, music, and time spent with friends and family. She especially cherished her grandchildren and the special bond she shared with them.
She expressed love through cooking and food, hosting gatherings, caregiving, and acts of generosity. She enjoyed crafts, puzzles, movies, comedy, and time with her pets, many of whom were cats and grand kitties through the years. She had an adventurous spirit and loved exploring, especially trips to Destin and time spent at the beach with friends and family.
She had a special passion for gardening and floral design and was an exceptional floral arranger, bringing beauty and intention into her surroundings.
Those closest to her knew she was always there, even in the moments when others tried to go it alone. She had a way of showing up in meaningful ways, often providing just what was needed, right when it mattered most.
She is survived by her son Daniel C. Belcher (Amy) and daughter Aubrey Kathleen Juniper (Jeff).
She was a loving grandmother to Carson Daniel Belcher, Landon Robert Heuman, Jack Brian Belcher, and Declan Cale Heuman, each of whom she loved completely and uniquely.
She is also survived by her siblings, listed from oldest to youngest: Chris Coffield, Randy Coffield, and Lisa Felder (John); her bonus mom Ilene Coffield; nieces Carson Felder and Casey Felder; and nephews Todd Coffield and Troy Coffield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius Carson Coffield and Evalon Mae Coffield; her firstborn son, Randall Lee Belcher; her sisters-in-law Wanda Coffield and Deanne Coffield; and her sister Sheri Crane.
Kathy’s faith was meaningful to her, and she was a member of Idlewild Baptist Church. Her family finds comfort in knowing she has returned home to the Lord and is now at peace.
They also find comfort in imagining her joyful reunion in heaven with her firstborn son, Randall Lee Belcher, along with her parents and other loved ones who preceded her.
She leaves behind quiet reminders to live fully, to not dim your light, to stay where you are cherished, and to trust others to care for you, so your heart can remain open to love.
A service to honor Kathy’s life will be held the morning of Saturday, April 4, at Trinity Memorial Gardens, with visitation at 10:00 AM and service at 11:00 AM, followed by a lunch reception onsite. Members of the pastoral team will be officiating.
