Katherine V Dillon's Obituary
Katherine V. (Kathy) Dillon, 72, of Land O’ Lakes, FL (formerly of North Port/Tampa, FL and Chester, PA), passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 8, 2021, following a long illness. She was born on October 6, 1948 in Chester, PA and relocated to FL in 1971. Kathy was a woman of many talents and was quite creative. When she wasn’t being a stay at home mom or playing a role of a mother figure to the kids in our neighborhood, she was creating wedding floral arrangements, baby shower decorations and many other craft projects. She worked in a variety of career fields throughout her life, including life insurance, medical administration, interior design, customer service, hospitality and records management. Some of her favorite years were spent working at her family’s restaurant, Charann’s, until it was sold to another family in the late 90s. Her last position prior to retiring was in records at the USF Police Department. She was always a huge supporter of law enforcement and loved having the opportunity to work with her team there. She was a long time parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church (Tampa) and served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister for many years. Kathy was preceded in death by her loving husband John of 33 years, her parents Charles and Ann Fischer, and her brothers, Charles “Chick” and Lawrence “Larry”. She is survived by her five children, Lori Lindsay, Michele (Joseph) Pinson, Kevin (Jennifer) Dillon, Shannon (Donnie) Hausey, and John Dillon III; ten grandchildren, Andrew, Jordan (Shakira), Justin (Alexis), Nate, Alexis (Jerry), Bryan (Rachel), Alyssa, Jaenon, Jacqueline and Desmond; two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Lennox; her sisters, Ann “Sis”, Barbara and Marian, her brother Stephen, and many nieces, nephews and other family. A funeral mass will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in Kathy’s memory to HPH Hospice, an affiliate of Chapters Health System.
