Karen L. Fedgo's Obituary
Karen Lynn Fedgo, loving and devoted Wife, Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother and Friend, was called to heaven on March 20, 2020 after an agonizing battle with Frontotemporal Dementia. Karen had just turned 58 years old on March 17th. She left this world way too soon and will be dearly missed by all.
Karen is pre-deceased by her Father, Paul K. Gibbon and her Husband, Paul A. Fedgo. She is survived by her Mother Grace Gibbon; Sister Darlene (Albert) Paglialunga; Daughters Jennifer (Azad) Portella and Alyssa Fedgo. Karen was also a proud and loving Grandmother to Kayden and Brody Portella.
Born in Queens, NY and raised on Long Island, Karen moved to Florida in 1989 with the love of her life. She was a Registered Nurse who loved to cook, spend time on the beach and spend time with her family. She will always be remembered as a kindhearted and loving person who always wanted to help in any way that she could.
“We wish we could see you one more time, come walking through the door…but we know that is impossible, we will hear your voice no more. We know that you can feel our tears and you don’t want us to cry, yet our hearts are still broken because we can’t understand why someone so precious had to die. We pray that God will give us strength and somehow get us through…as we struggle with the heartache that came when we lost you.” Rest In Peace, Mother Dearest. Love you.
Karen will be entombed on Monday, March 30th, alongside her husband at Trinity Memorial Gardens during a private service. A celebration of life will be coordinated for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, we would like to encourage donations in Karen’s memory to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration https://www.theaftd.org/support-aftds-mission/
