Joyce Lorrine Green's Obituary
Joyce Lorrine Green went home to be with her Lord on October 16, 2025. She was born on November 18, 1960, and raised in Brooksville, Florida, to the late Minister David Johnson Sr. and the late Minister Bonzola Johnson. Joyce was one of four siblings and is preceded in death by her beloved father and brother, Timothy Johnson. She is survived by her sister Patricia Rushing (Robert) and brother David Johnson Jr., both of Brooksville.
A proud graduate of Hernando High School, Class of 1978, Joyce pursued her passion for helping others by earning a nursing degree from Pasco Community College in Brooksville. She later advanced her education at the University of South Florida in Tampa, where she earned her bachelor’s degree.
Joyce married the love of her life, Freddy Green, and together they raised one son, Terrence F. Green of Riverview, Florida, who also attended USF. Joyce dedicated over 35 years of service to the Florida Department of Probation, retiring as a respected state probation officer.
A woman of deep faith, Joyce was a devoted member of Faith Outreach Church in Tampa, Florida, and remained active in her spiritual walk until her passing. She was a loving wife, mother, auntie, and the best sister anyone could ask for.
A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held on Saturday, November 1, at 11:00 AM at Living Word Fellowship, followed by interment at Brooksville City Cemetery. Following the burial, the family and guests will be returning to Living Word Fellowship to celebrate Joyce's life at the repass.
