Joshua D Crain's Obituary
United States Marine Lance Corporal Joshua D. Crain
04/16/2003 – 06/18/2023
Air Traffic Control | Camp Pendleton Oceanside, CA
Announcement:
Sunday June 18th, near Camp Pendleton in Oceanside California, around 1:00 p.m., Marine LCPL Joshua Daniel Crain, my sweet son and cherished brother to Abby Crain, has left us to go be with the Lord. He went while doing what he loved (riding his new BMW motorcycle), and his accident was very quick and painless.
Joshua resided in Tampa, FL and is survived by his Mother, Tracy Crain (44), his sister, Abigail Crain (18), grandparents Delmos & Greta Figel, and best friends Chad Merritt & LCPL Brayden Allen, among so many others he cherished. He loved his fellow Marines & Service Members as family, his friend groups, his riding buddies, & his many car group families. We thank you for the family that you gave him in Tampa & while he was away from home.
We are so very grateful for all the time that we got to be with him and for all the love that we share. Joshua called his mom about an hour before the accident wishing her a Happy Father's Day and loved his family very much. He adored his sister above all and at only 20 years old, he went to great lengths to make sure that she would be taken care of, leaving her a legacy of love & protection. Joshua was so talented in everything he did from gaming, piano composition, guitar, drifting, racing, repelling, and doing all kinds of dumb stuff with his friends as he approached everyday living it to the fullest.
Most importantly, Joshua was baptized March 18, 2019, where he has faithfully loved, feared, and served Jesus. He was used in the healing ministry, volunteered in the audio/video department for Radiant Church Tampa, FL, prayed over his fellow bikers prior to rides, & lead several to the Lord. Joshua made it his daily mission to find the lonely, the hungry, & those needing love, and created a sense of belonging and inclusion with his car groups. Often Joshua would drive around to feed the homeless sandwiches and water and give them his last dollars for shelter to avoid the rain. This is truly just 1 person that impacted 10’s of thousands of souls in his short life. We know he is master orchestrating divine appointments for salvations, playlists for your radio, and playing the piano for the Heavenlies.
February 2, 2023, Joshua graduated from Air Traffic Control School In Pensacola, FL under the command of Captain CAI.
Joshua attended Bootcamp at Paris Island April 21, 2022, graduating with 4th Battalion PAPA Co 4038 July 21, 2022. He proceeded to MTC at Camp Geiger.
April 2021- Dec 2022, Joshua attended Marion Military Institute in Marion, AL participating in the PLC Program and Band (Piano).
Joshua attended Marine Military Academy the summer of 2017. He had his heart set on being a marine from a young age.
Joshua attended H.B. Plant High School prior to getting accepted to Blake High School Magnet Program for Piano, where he received and exception from the state & graduated at the age of 16. He attended & found the piano at Bridge Prep Charter School, as well as graduated from Wilson Middle School & Gorrie Elementary School. He also attended Academy of the Sacred Heart & Harris Elementary School in St. Charles, MO, living in his childhood home on N. Brighton Park Court. Joshua also lived in Murfreesboro, TN, and was born on April 16, 2003, in Pensacola, FL.
