Joseph M LeRoy's Obituary
Joseph M. LeRoy of Trinity, Florida passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 20, 2023. He was born in Leavenworth, Kansas on June 16, 1946, the son of Joe and Sylvia LeRoy.
Joe graduated in 1964 from Immaculata High School, Leavenworth, Kansas. He graduated from Kansas City Diesel Driving School, Oak Grove, Missouri in 1972.
Joe married Kathy Bradley and they were happily married for 59 years. Beloved father of Nancy (Russ) Shuttleworth, Diane (Jeff) Inman, Joe B. LeRoy, and Scott (Jill) LeRoy. Beloved grandfather of Jeff (Alyssa) Inman, Christina (Rusty) Banks, Suzannah (Jonathan) Neptune, Russell Shuttleworth, and Kate Shuttleworth. He has 8 great grandchildren. He is survived by sisters, JoAnn Ross and Sandra (Ron) Brown, and brothers, Bob (Lannetta) LeRoy and Ronnie LeRoy. He is proceeded in death by brother Pat (Marilyn) LeRoy.
Joe had 35 years of professional accident-free driving. He was a team driver at Earp Distribution, Kansas City, Kansas, until 2002 when he and his wife, Kathy moved to Florida. In Florida, he was a driver for the Walmart private fleet, where he received multiple awards and safety accolades, such as having one million safe miles. He also served as a store ambassador.
Joe loved spending time with his family, winning trophies at classic car shows, bowling, and golfing. He also loved watching sports such as the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, Kansas Jayhawks, and Kansas State Wildcats. You always saw Joe wearing either Tommy Bahama Hawaiian shirts or his favorite sports teams. He also loved listening to music, watching horror movies, game shows, and eating Kansas City BBQ. He was very creative and artistic.
