Joann married Hiram Lee Pinkerton on May 12, 1957 and celebrated 60 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2017. Over the years she especially enjoyed caring for the many different animals that were part of our family, owning/training horses and many dogs that were all special in their own way. Most recently and very special to her was her little ‘Morkie’ named Riley. He provided her so much comfort and companionship following the passing of her husband. Joann and Riley went on nightly golf cart rides visiting their many friends in the neighborhood.
Over the past several years she cherished her friends in the Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club community where she resided. Joann loved people and she was loved by many, she was quite social and very active in the community. She enjoyed participating with her dear friends as part of the Bunco Group and the Widows Connection. She was on the Emergency Preparedness Committee and most recently the Lawn and Roads Chairperson for Sandhill Dunes.
Most of all, Joann treasured her children, grandchildren and great grandchild. She embraced every moment with them and loved her role as Grammy. She was recently informed that two additional great grandchildren are expected. They will enjoy hearing the wonderful memories of their great grandmother.
